Part-Time Bookkeeper

We are seeking a part-time bookkeeper either working from home or from the office here in Westport. Your primary duties would include recording all transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accounts are up to date each month. You will be working closely with the owner of the business and currently, you would be expected to work about  16 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities

Recording day-to-day monetary transactions, including sales and purchases invoices.
Recording incoming payments and preparing outgoing payments for final approval.
Reconciling Accounts including the Bank Statements and Bank Accounts.
Balancing General Ledger & sub ledgers and checking accounts for errors or omissions.
Managing and recording payroll.
Managing and completing VAT Returns.
Ensuring amounts due are collected in a timely manner while maintaining good relationships with customers.
Review Trial Balance, P&L, and Balance Sheet at the end of each month.

Job Requirements

At least two years of bookkeeping experience
Accounting Technician or Equivalent Qualification
Knowledge of Accounting Software Packages
Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Good written and verbal communication skills
